Alumni Corner

On February 23, 2015, five International Area Studies alumni gathered for a happy hour in New York, New York.  Ashley Wessier '07, Robby Moylan '07, Katie Criqui '08, Andrew Damron '09, and Alisha Khanna '11 all braved the negative 30° wind chill to reminisce about our great IAS experiences, but also to share new successes in our lives.  We had a picturesque setting at the W Hotel Downtown, with the backdrop of Liberty Tower.

One of the great qualities of our IAS students and alumni is our ability to spread around the country, and even the world, to learn, to work hard, to network, and then return to our homes to share the amazing things that we have learned on our journeys.  We probably first learned to do this when we studied abroad, and then returned to write our final dissertation for our capstone course with Dr. Mostov (thankfully they eventually opened up that 24 hour café in W. W. Hagerty Library).

If you are in the New York City area, please join us at our next IAS alumni happy hour, which will take place during the early summer.  We would love to connect with you and to see what journeys you have been on.  Please reach out to andrew.t.damron@gmail.com if you are interested in getting more information about the next event.
